This tilt column is designed to fit your 1963-66 Corvette and does NOT require modification to your original vehicle to install. Simply remove your old column, saving your original under dash mount and floor mount. Add an aftermarket wheel and the gripping surface of the new wheel will be in the same location as the original.

Please note the space differences when using the original steering wheel vs an aftermarket wheel.
Tilt column with original wheel: 1/2″ closer to the driver
Tilt column with aftermarket wheel: 1 1/2″ closer to the dash
